Fattoria Poggio Capponi has its roots in the Florence of the Renaissance era marked by the patronage of the Medici family. This period saw Florence turn into a cultural melting pot, hosting masters of the calibre of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Sandro Botticelli.
Founded by the prestigious Capponi family, the Fattoria is located 25 km from Florence, in a strategic position on the hills of Chianti. The property covers 350 hectares on the hills of Montespertoli, of which 34 are vineyards and 35 olive groves. The altitude varies from 250 to 270 metres. From the very beginning, the farm has been characterized by its dual function: an agricultural production centre with the cultivation of grapevines, olive trees, and wheat, as well as a holiday retreat. The farmers who settled there have perpetuated these working traditions for generations. |
The Podere Monastero estate is situated in Castellina in Chianti, in the heart of Tuscany, about 500 metres above sea level. It was established in 2000 by its owner, oenologist Alessandro Cellai, with the sole aim of making two great wines. The vineyards occupy an area of 3 hectares, 1.5 of which used for the cultivation of Pinot Noir, while the remaining 1.5 are cultivated with Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) and Merlot (50%).
The choice of land was of fundamental importance, as was (to an even greater extent) the choice of the clones and rootstocks, requiring extensive research, which was carried out among the most prestigious plant nurseries in France. Indeed, the challenge was to produce an excellent wine in a land famous for other grape varieties but not for this particular variety – Pinot Nero/Pinot Noir. To succeed, they had to approach every single operation with meticulous attention, first in the vineyard and then in the cellar. |
Champagne Paul Goerg belongs to one of the few winegrower maison in Champagne.
It was founded back in 1950 when 8 families of winegrowers from Vertus decided to join forces and to share together their vineyard. Located in Vertus, in the heart of the famous Côte des Blancs, Paul Goerg‘s DNA is Chardonnay. Its unique 120 hectares of vineyards are almost exclusively planted with this varietal, a symbol of finesse and elegance. Their cuvées benefit from ageing way beyond legal requirements (minimum 4 years for non vintage and 8 years for vintages) and low dosage. In this way, they express Chardonnay’s finesse, elegance and complexity. Today, representatives from families Collard, Faucheret, Férat, Rogué, Grégoire, Doquet, Gallois and Pougeoise still have the same passion for Champagne and are actively present at the company’s board. |
The running of the estate has been a family affair for several generations. Today, the mother and daughter team of Véronique & Aurore manage this prestigious estate, producing highly acclaimed terroir-driven Muscadets across 75 hectares of vineyards in the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation.
Véronique has been at the estate since 1989 when she took over from her father. The estate's different terroirs and the aging potential of its Muscadets fascinated her and are aspects she has constantly striven to promote. Aurore, a qualified winemaker, joined the estate in 2011, and has converted some of the vineyards to certified organic winegrowing methods. |
